It's just something to consider. If it's the sorority you feel that you like the most, maybe that's a fine trade off for just the first semester. It's not that the sorority is trying to punish you. These guidelines are set in place so you have a balance between your social life and your academics. And it IS the sorority's business because what you do reflects upon them. Paying your dues does not buy you a free pass, you have to prove that you can handle your academic responsibilities before you're given new social ones.
