lol Elitist? Give me a break. Sorry but there is literally no way to do all that a sorority offers without dues. That's life. I guess life is "elitist". You 100% don't need to spend 1-3k more a year, that crazily ridiculous and exaggerated. Getting a little is the only time you'll need to spend several hundred dollars. You don't need to buy ridiculous outfits for everything, that's just you being frivolous. Tuition is not cheap at fsu or anywhere for that matter. Sororities are expensive, no doubt. You do need to understand they are very expensive and make sure it's an investment you think is worth making. But they do offer something of value if you put in the effort. My sisters, not my other friends, were there for me when my life took a downturn. It offers leadership positions and connections through alumni groups throughout the country. It also offers a unique social experience that you can't get anywhere else, although of course you don't need it to make friends. Coming from a small school to fsu was a huge adjustment, having a sorority makes a large campus more intimate. Having a house you can use whenever you want is also a pretty amazing benefit.
