Yup, exactly. Too bad you can't speak any sense into these people. Cognitively, they are just gone. There's nothing there. They are shells of human beings who have absolved themselves from the burden of thinking because it's easier to let the government and news do it for you. A walking bundle of nerves, just parroting stuff they hear from what is deemed as a source of authority, and what they perceive to be what the majority of people are saying. Nothing more - nothing less. Mind-controlled automatons who would voluntarily walk off the edge of a cliff if they saw enough people doing, simply as to not be deemed as "going against societal norms".
