They could have actually really liked you. Whether you move on or not is a group decision, not only that girl you talked to. Sometimes girls we really love get cut against our wishes for whatever reason. And even if that girl DID decide you weren't right for the house, doesn't mean she didn't like you herself, just that she felt you wouldn't have really felt at home there. You also have to remember that it's the girl's jobs to be extremely friendly and welcoming, it's part of rush. They're even like to that to girls they know they are going to cut because why wouldn't you be friendly to them? The downside is that every year girls get their hearts crushed. They should warn girls better before rush for this imo. Rush sucks, it does. For everyone. It can cut you down but at the end of the week you'll find the house where everyone was insistent on having you and it'll be worth it. You may be disappointed the house you thought was perfect for you dropped you but later you might see how wrong you were. I know I did for the house I loved that cut me before Pref.
