I just recently graduated ASU after spending a full 4 years in my fraternity (7 semesters as an active, 1 as a pledge) and was spending some time reflecting on the experience before moving out of state. Overall, I had an incredible experience, got laid more than I could have ever imagined, made lifelong friends, and very rarely went a weekend without something to do. I was a brother of a "top-tier" on-campus chapter (I put it in "", since everyone measures that differently). One of the biggest things that I noticed (in my own chapter and from speaking to friends in other fraternities) is the tendency to always think the grass is greener on the other side. I remember when I was a freshman, everyone in my chapter was jealous of the fraternity that was partying every weekend without getting caught, while we were being more conservative. Then, when I was a sophomore, my friend in another chapter said his fraternity was having lengthy debates in chapter because his chapter, thought MY chapter was "partying 4x/week" and they needed to up the number of parties they were having to keep up with us (this was a misconception, my fraternity was never partying more than 1x/week, maybe 2x if we had a date party or social).
