Greek life is a great opportunity to become more social and involved in other activities. Aside from parties, date functions and mixers with other chapters, chapters also support different philanthropic endeavors. But many clubs and organizations also have these opportunities if you see yourself fitting in elsewhere. I would rush and see where you feel you fit in, you can always drop rushing if you don’t enjoy it or don’t find a house you like but there is no harm in trying
