Subject:
opinion about greek life at jmu

Poster Message:
I’m going to be a senior this year and I’m in a sorority that’s considered to be top on campus and while I found a few good friends, I would not say that I’ve ever felt a strong feeling of sisterhood. I remember going to mixers as a freshman and sophomore and it would just be small clusters of my sisters talking to each other and you really do feel the presence of cliques. When I lived in my house there was definitely an “in crowd” and an “out crowd” even within the house girls. Although being a part of greek life has introduced me to girls I wouldn’t have met otherwise and forced me to get involved, it’s also subjected me to a whole bunch of drama I wouldn’t have to deal with if I wasn’t in anything. Personally, I feel like the only perks of Greek life at jmu besides the minimal philanthropy we do is having mixers and making it easier to meet boys lol
