Sororities are great at many things: hosting campus wide events, coming up with new and interesting t shirt ideas, and of course blowing glitter at cameras. However,  the one thing that sororities do best is expand. They do this through recruitment, snapping up eager new freshman, promising and often delivering an amazing and friend-filled college experience. However, sororities also expand in other, more daring ways—one of which is colonizing new chapters. Here are 7 new chapters of 2016 who are poised to do great things.

Delta Gamma at NYU
DG is one of the most popular sororities nationwide, and this spring the new DG chapter in the Big Apple recruited 150 new star pledges! These new women join a casual yet fun Greek system at NYU and will definitely ‘Do Good’!

Gamma Phi Beta at Washington University in St. Louis
A small school with a high percentage of students in Greek life, Wash U recently invited Gamma Phi to colonize to a huge success. They extended more than 100 bids, expanding Gamma Phi’s presence in the Midwest.
Chi Omega at Northeastern University
With 143 new members joining this spring, the largest sorority in the country, Chi O, just got a little bigger!

Despite being new, this chapter sure is mighty! Already making an impact on campus and through philanthropy, these new Phi Sigs are making MU better.

Tri Sigma at Oakland University
Joining a vibrant Greek Life at OU last fall, these new Tri Sigmas have quickly become a great force on campus!
Pi Beta Phi at Emory
Pi Phi just welcomed a big new founding class as the second Georgia Pi Phi chapter! Can’t wait to see what the new angels on campus get up to.
Gamma Phi Beta at University of Florida
Florida has sunshine, beaches, and now one new Gamma Phi chapter! This past fall UF was ‘over the moon’ with their new colonizing pledge class.
