We’ve all experienced it: that feeling of trying and trying, but getting nowhere. The homework is piling up and you keep getting farther and farther behind. You are ready to give up. Here are a few tips to help you get out of the slump and back into the groove.
Remember why you’re doing this
Why are you going to college? What pushed you to enroll in the first place? Try to recall your thought process. Write them down and put them in a place that you’ll always see them if you need to. Use the motivation that helped you get started to push you to the finish.
Take a break
Sometimes, taking a break is all you need. No matter how long it’s been since your last one, whether it was several days ago, last semester, or a couple minutes ago, you may just need a moment to refresh. Go out with friends, watch a movie, do anything else, just don’t worry about anything school related. Use this time to relax and destress.

Find a New routine
Doing the same thing over and over can cause anyone to fall into a slump. When you do the same thing day after day, it can be monotonous and boring. You can’t change when your classes meet, but you can change other aspects of your routine. Study at a different time or eat lunch a little earlier or later. Adding a little variety to your day can help you regain your motivation.
Push through Sometimes, you just have to force yourself to get through it. Even if you don’t want to, force yourself to finish your homework and to go to class. Semesters are short, just push through to the end, it’ll be over before you know it. You’ll be happy that you didn’t let on slump keep you from finishing.
