Sisters, we confidently know that being in a sorority is so much more than the media and pop culture would like to portray. Regardless of what letters you wear, we can all proudly say that our organizations have the same long-standing goal of empowering women. It’s no surprise to us to see that some of the most powerful women in our society are products of Greeklife. Here’s a list of 8 chapters across the country that are going above and beyond in their efforts to empower and support women.

In 2009, Pepperdine University alumnae Lauren Parsekian of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Molly Thompson of Delta Gamma founded the Kind Campaign. It’s “an internationally recognized movement, documentary and school program based upon the powerful belief in KINDness that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl ‘crime.’” Today, both the DG and KKG chapters at Pepperdine promote and support the Kind Campaign, carrying out the organization’s mission to end girl-against-girl crime (not to mention how awesome it is that the two sororities decided to team-up for the project! #interfraternalism am I right?)
