Sorority sisters are often considered by the outside world as girls who all fit into the same cookie cutter mold. If you are in a sorority, although, you know that sorority sisters are all unique in their very own special ways. It is each and every member’s uniqueness that makes a strong, well rounded sisterhood. Let us celebrate 13 different sorority girl types. Which one are you?
The GDI
There's always at least one girl in a house who makes you wonder – why did she rush? This girl couldn't care less about Greek involvement and can often be seen hanging out with her actual GDI friends. It's not that she doesn't love her sisters, she's just less thrilled about frat mixers and Greek Week.
The Frat Rat
We all know one, and so do all of the fraternities. She loves to hang out with the guys and is probably the first girl you'll ask when you're looking for a party. Maybe she's dating one of them, maybe she's hooking up with a few, or maybe she's just “one of the guys”. Either way, you know she's on at least one fraternity composite.
The Mom
Whether you're sick in the bathroom from studying too hard (and then celebrating the end of studying), or curled up on the couch, crying because that studying didn't pay off, this girl is there to comfort you. She'll bring you water, blankets, and make you snacks. She has a lot of love to go around, and will always go out of her way to make you feel better.
The Body Builder
You wake up, realized you've slept in past your alarm for your 8 a.m., rush to the bathroom for some mouth wash, and you see her. You know the one, the girl who woke up at 6 a.m. for her morning run. She's already had breakfast and showered, and as she flashes a bright smile, you can't help but want to punch her for being so productive and disciplined (although she could totally beat you up).
The Brainiac
No matter her major, there's always at least one total genius in your house. She gets the grades, and she's not afraid to remind everyone. She stresses over that B+ she got on a quiz, but must compare her grades to everyone in the same classes. Depending on the girl, she might be nice enough to offer to look over your work for a class, but don't be offended when she criticizes even your best work.
The Sister
The true meaning of sisterhood can be found in this girl. She's your BFF, your rock, and probably your roommate. Whether you met her on Bid Day, or through mutual friends, you guys instantly hit it off. When you need a study buddy, or someone to hold your hair back at 3 a.m., this girl is there for you. Although you're not blood-related, you can't help but wonder where this girl has been your whole life.
The Mentor
This is the older member in your house who seems to have adopted you as her Honorary Little. She's always looking out for you, and isn't afraid to invite you to parties. She checks in on your family life, and always makes sure you're doing alright in classes. She's invested in you, and is dedicated to showing you true sisterhood. Although you'll always have a special place in your heart for your Big, it's nice to know that you have sisters throughout the house who love you just as much.
The Authoritarian
Whether this girl is on the executive board, or is part of the senior pledge class, she definitely has the alpha gene. You may feel like you have to be on your best behavior – at least until she looks away. This girl might take herself too seriously when it comes to reinforcing the rules, and might sometimes even get in trouble for speaking out of place! While often this girl is sweet on her own, when given the iron fist, she takes a power trip.
The Class Clown
Lucky for us, this girl is willing to make a fool out of herself to have a good time! She probably organizes harmless house pranks, and can probably be heard belting Top 40 songs from her room when getting ready for a night out. Everyone loves this girl, and counts on her humorous quips to lighten up house meetings.
The Dude
Different from the frat rat in the sense that she isn't necessarily a fraternity groupie, this girl is a tomboy. She's the girl burping like Buddy the Elf at an ice cream social, and flaunts more basketball sweats than mini skirts. She might play a sport, or maybe she has older brothers. Either way, this girl is a dude, and we all love her and the special charm she brings to the house.
The Senior Groupie
This is the underclassman who hangs out exclusively with the upperclassmen. Social climbing is her thing, and she finds much more fulfillment in being associated with the seniors than with her own pledge class. While this girl may be a total sweetheart, she'll need to look out when all of her senior BFFs graduate. If she doesn't start bonding with her own PC, she'll be fresh out of homies and future roomies.
The Relationship Counselor
This girl has been through it all. She's had her fair share of bad breakups, hot flings, and passionate loves. That, or her friends have all been through it enough that she became an expert on relationships anyway. She's the girl you turn to when you just don't know what is up with that cute boy. She decodes all of the messages and signs, and knows exactly what to do in tough situations.
The Legacy
The legacy is the girl who has been immersed in your house's values her entire life. She exemplifies them, and everyone can't help but love her. She's had plenty of practice in cultivating friendships, and practicing philanthropy, so naturally she's one of the most involved members. That, or she was forced to join the house by her mother/sister/grandmother and totally doesn't get all the hype.
