Southern Top 6: XO KD, ZTA, PhiMu DDD, ADPi ...closely followed by KKG
National Top 6: KKG, PiPhi, Theta, DDD, DG, XO..closely followed by ADPi/KD/ZTA
Basically, go XO, KD, DDD, KKG, ADPi, PiPhi, Theta, ZTA or DG and you've got great connections no matter where you end up after college

The truth is that the list is wrong. You can argue about rankings at Bama (notice all the comments on greek rank disagreeing) but nationally is a different thing. Newsweek has ranked the houses on their strength nationally:
1) Phi Mu
2) Gamma Phi
3) AXO
4) DZ
5) Theta
This list doesn't seem probably at Bama, though, other than Phi Mu being on top. So there are all the people who are saying it's wrong. It's probably right. They had to do research and base it on something.
BUT... It doesn't matter. There are outstanding alums in every sorority. So pick a house you like. Enjoy college. Then get out and enjoy life. Forget about ranking your sorority.

And this list is NOT the two-year-old Newsweek list. Google and find it yourself.
But every sorority has strong chapters and every sorority has weak chapters.
At Bama, all the chapters are strong. Besides, why should PNMs worry? They don't really get to pick anyway.

For the vast majority of people, after they graduate their fraternity/sorority choice DOES NOT MATTER. Think about it - if you were hiring, and wanted to pick someone who reflected well on you and helped your career, would you pick the best candidate or an ok candidate from your old chapter?
I think you know the answer. Don't buy that "it will open up doors" BS because that does not happen much. Choose the people you like and want to spend your 4 years in college with - that is most important.
All that said, it does happen sometimes, but you should not count on it. Make your own career, don't rely on someone else to do it for you. If you do get help, hey, good for you, that is a bonus.
