are grades that important?

I got into the business school last week and I will be an incoming freshman next year. I was wondering if grades play a large role into getting bids, because I have 3.3 weighted GPA and a 24 on my ACT. I also had a really difficult course load if that helps anything.

I got in a top house with a 3.5 GPA and a 25 on the ACT and my roommate got in a lower tier house with a 3.0 GPA and a 22 on the ACT...just give it a try and you can always COB!
