What college student at UT has money that doesn't run out! Most of us are from middle class families with limited savings and finances. The posts above are from the criminal element in each UT Chapter. BEWARE.

There are tons of kids at UT that come from wealthy families. If you don't go here, you shouldn't comment on posts.

Rich or poor, embezzlement is a crime. At least the posts above are now acknowledging their guilt.

Lets get all Greek Chapters to begin Annual Audits this year. Its the best way to get rid of these leaches.

Anti-crime inside Chapters is NOT anti-Greek.

The internal audits being conducted by Chapter Officers for their adviser and National Office does not meet any accounting standards. and is Ripe with corruption. Its like having an inmate write their own arrest report. An INDEPENDENT annual Audit will resolve the embezzlement within a Chapter. Those who are alarmed by this uprising are the embezzlers afraid of being caught.

BEWARE and keep the momentum across UT.

First, read all the earlier posts on this subject. Many fraternities stated they could not afford an audit. Those who are, the Chapter Treasurer prepares a basic spreadsheet for their Chapter advisor and national offices. They are Not prepared by an independent auditor.

Second, there have been many discussions not a revolt at Chapter meetings requesting an annual audit. Many the Pledge Classes have brought this request to their Chapters.

It is up to each Chapter, NOW.

Smaller fraternity checking in; we definitely have an independent auditor look at our finances every semester. In fact, most of the smaller chapters put their resources into managing their finances first, just so that they can appropriately stretch a buck. I don't know where you got your information about smaller chapters, but it's inaccurate. You might want to get your facts straight before going on a tirade about embezzlement. Also, just throwing this out there, but when people actually present valid counterpoints to what you're arguing, simply calling them names (crook, thief, etc.) makes you look foolish. Just the two cents of someone who is actually in a fraternity at Texas.

Greekrank just made me do a robot check. That must mean that this robot who keeps making these posts is pretty advanced. Anyway, I wonder if all the random ass capitalization encodes something, or if that's just how it gets by the robot detector.

At what! I was mocking our good friend auditbot. It mastered the art of avoiding bot filters, but it still hasn't mastered the shift key or caps lock.

A concerned UT Greek who witnessed inner Chapter fraud and embezzlement. The Chapter caught this officer and he repaid the amount in full. We heard of several other similar incidences over the past few years.

After reading the opposing posts, it clearly appears these Chapter crooks do not take their criminal acts seriously and find it funny. Hopefully the first criminal charge will get their attention.

Sorority dues seem to enter an ever-present black hole. Honestly, house maintenance, transportation for events, custom apparel, and fines paid to UPC can't possibly add up to an annual budget of $1 million. Where does the rest go?

Fraternities have similar annual budgets, but seem to do all of the same functions as sororities plus much, much more. At least 40-60% of most large fraternities' budgets go towards social functions (including TX-OU, build parties, performing artists, and formals). The lack of financial transparency amongst sororities is simply mind boggling.
