The "top" ones seem to be more superficial. You just need to find girls you click with. Go to parties and meet girls and decide for yourself!

Do not go to parties before or during rush! It's a rule for girls participating in recruitment.

There's actually no rule that says you cant go out before or during recruitment. It is hughly recommended that you dont because girls in houses arent supposed to talk to you outside of rush so not going out makes it easier.
