I am wondering why Pi Phi and KKG have such low rankings on here? I went through part of fall rush (dropped it in the middle because it was too much of a time commitment and I didn't feel like it was right for me at the time) but from what I saw, both those sororities seemed to have genuinely nice, pretty girls. Is there something I'm missing here?

I would say it isn't really cut and dry house by house rankings at unc. It's more of a tier system where houses in each tier coexist at the same level because they are respected equally, but are known for different things. the first group is all of (all of these are in alphabetical order) XO, DDD, KD. They all have different reps but are on the same level and compete for the same girls. Next level is AXO, ADPi, ZTA. Again, they all have very different reps but compete for the same girls. Phi Mu is kind of in limbo between that level and the next: KKG, Pi Phi, SSS. Again, same level, same girls, different houses.

Agree with your point on no cut and dry rankings, BUT...saying that Phi Mu is anywhere near the same level as AXO or Zeta is incorrect and saying that Phi Mu is anywhere near the same level is ADPi is beyond delusional.

I would say AXO/Zeta/Phi Mu are kinda all on par with one another...
All are basically mid-tier with a mix of different types of girls rather than one typical stereotype for their house. Zeta has slowly been getting worse though, while I think most would argue AXO and even Phi Mu have been getting better.

Kappa needs to be on the same level or even above Pi Phi, they're definitely not below. Have you seen their 2013 pledge class?

don't even try. phi mu is a poor man's zeta and everyone knows it. half of your sorority is ashamed of and hides their own sisters because all they care about is status. Makes me sad for the other half who are great.

Pi Phi and KKG are great houses with terrific sisters - the genuinely nice, pretty girls you met yourself. The tier thing is stupid.
