old money houses?

by: hodl

Who are the old money houses at Illinois?
Those with refined culture...NOT the nouveau-riche social climbers.

Look to the houses that have financially maintained their original mansions for 100+ years without adding awful dorm add-ons. There are only a handful.

I mean if youre gonna say 100 yr old house you might as well add AXP (Crows), Delts (newer house on same location), Kappa Sigma, Phi Kappa Sigma (Skulls), SAE, Phi Psi, and PSK

What is delusional? The OP said 100 year old houses, I simply listed the houses that existed in 1924.

I was actually making the point that 100 yr old house does not make you a top chapter. Did you not understand that as well? What the h e ll kind of kids are we admitting these days?

BY the way did you actually look at the 1924 Illio - it is easy to find and has some interesting info. One of the top houses was Zeta Psi.

Well the largest houses have the most social climbers, so you do the math. For frats, smaller houses have percentage-wise more old money kids, for the simple reason they are not desperate to impress anyone and value friendships.

Srats I would actually guess Pi Phi, they seem more like an East Coast srat who are not obsessed with looks or being trendy but are one of the oldest houses and head of Greek Affairs is an alum. Maybe Chi O, they are more low key.

Marc Andreessen also gives to his old house.
Alumni contributions are frequently "under the radar."
