Just a piece of ritual that has somehow sneaked out. But really, I would imagine all the sororities have some bit of weird ritual. Most sororities were founded (and the ritual established) a hundred and fifty years ago. Chi O is a pretty new sorority when it comes to that. They probably have less weird stuff than most.
