I do agree with you somewhat. It seems like to get into some of the houses, you need somebody on the inside advocating for you (and advocating hard). It seems rare for a random girl to wander into a "top house" (Kappa for example) and get a bid. The girls who get in seemed to know somebody (or more than one somebody) or came from a top school. But that's not to say it doesn't ever happen. It just seems more common to know somebody.
