Gone But Not Forgotten

Poster Message:
In the last week of April we received word that we were being further investigated for hosting a function, with the evidence being a folder of printouts of Instagram and facebook photos collected by some member of either IFC or the university who, using a list of active members, took the time to search each active individually on social media and save every photo that showed that member with their date for a sober dinner night we had to celebrate the graduating seniors. Again, these were screencaps of Instagram feeds showing photos of nothing more than a brother and their date in front of a brick wall. No alcohol, no location tags, nothing like that. Following their further “investigation,” we received word today that Purdue’s “reasonable suspicion” has ultimately resulted in the end of 100 years here at Purdue. This is written as a warning to the Greeks on our campus. Your time is limited, and the university is coming for you. The social media step taken proved that Purdue is no longer trusting Greek organizations, but is systematically hunting them down and closing houses with years of tradition and history on campus. There was no event, accident, or drunk mishap that resulted in their April investigation. That was simply some member of the university checking brother’s social media accounts with no reasonable suspicion, with the goal of finding something, anything, to place blame for.
