It is Fat Tuesday! That means that the Catholic season of Lent begins tomorrow and will last for the next 40 days. Nearly 25% of the United States population is Catholic. Not every sorority girl is Catholic, but even if you’re not Greek you might still want to try to give something up for Lent. This is especially true you are giving up a bad habit, an expense, or a time sink. Here are some suggestions of what a sorority girl might consider abstaining from for the next 40 days.

Netflix
Seriously, many of us spend way too much time re-watching Friends. Imagine all the product things we could be doing with our time if we weren’t binge watching.

The Bachelor
Giving up the final 2 weeks of The Bachelor would be a serious sacrifice. This ultimate sacrifice would give you the confidence to break all your other unwanted habits. Online Shopping
Taking a little more than a month off of online shopping wouldn’t kill you, right? If formal is coming up and you don’t have an outfit picked out, just borrow a dress from one of your sisters. Your wallet will thank you.
Going out to eat
You want your wallet to really thank you? Try not going to a restaurant for 40 days. Avoiding restaurants can also help you if you are struggling to cut back on the size of your portions or salt consumption.
Social Media
Seriously? Is this even possible? You always hear those stories of those people who go off the grid for a little while and come back so refreshed. Studies show that our phones are stressing us the F out. This one would be really difficult, but just keep in mind that at the turn of the century like no one on campus was using social media and they still managed to have fun.
