Breaks in college seem are the best. Between class, homework, part-time jobs, and campus involvement, there never seems to be enough time to just sit back and relax. Some breaks last for weeks, some for weekends, some are only a day long. Ah, breaks. That light at the end of the tunnel throughout the stress of college.
Find an animal to love on
Chances are if your home isn’t close by and your campus isn’t pet-friendly, it’s been a while since you’ve seen your fur/scale/feather baby. Luckily, lots of animal shelters and sometimes even pet stores let you come in and play with, or at least look at, their critters, even if you’re not looking to adopt. You and the animals will love the affection.
Tidy up your living space
What, you haven’t had the motivation or energy to clean on top of all your other responsibilities? Understandable. But coming home to a mess time and time again probably isn’t helping your stress level either. Even small tasks like a load of dishes, hanging up clothes, or even just a quick.. Look ahead to your next break
Okay, maybe this break is going to be relatively uneventful, but that doesn’t mean your next one has to be. Start looking ahead for possible options for the next time you’re off of school, and maybe even start working at some of the logistics.
Take a crack at that list of things to try
Perhaps you have a list, Pinterest board, etc. of things you’d like to make, try out, learn, etc. that you never seem to get around to. Why not tackle one (or more) of those things now? Take the time to relax!
Okay, don’t completely ignore your work load, but it’s called “break” for a reason! There is no shame in taking some time for yourself-in fact it’s quite healthy! We promise all your duties will be there when you’re done. Enjoy all your upcoming breaks from school, however you’re spending them!
