OLD ROW SORORITY DESCRIPTIONS

PHI MU: There are two vibes of Phi Mus. You’ll have a majority of girls who are your frilly, pink-obsessed christians. The type of girls who would go to bible study, want to marry a baseball player with a verse in his bio, and truthfully never got over the whole preppy, clean girl phase. Then you have your wild child, influencer phi mus. These are girls who will go out and enjoy night life, wear metallic and trendy clothing, and want to be with like guys who could be signed to a modeling agency. Both vibes cohabit nice within the house and they really don’t care where you are from so long as you fit either vibe perfectly.
AXO: These girls are your Christian girl but way more relaxed. They present themselves in a very put together way and want to excel academically and professionally. They don’t care about the whole preppy vibe and you’ll just see them in a cute top and jeans. They also don’t care about the area code quite as much so long as you show you’re motivated and authentic.
TRI DELT: These girl are your average southern girls by day and seasoned party girls by night. A house very focused on fun and recruit very non-traditional girls. You’ll have everything from preppy girls to costal girls to redneck girls to sophisticated girls to cool girls—does not matter so long as you are rich and know how to get down. They focus on southern girls but want the ones from FL, LA, KY, TN, SC… the ones nobody thinks to focus on at first.
KD: These are your very cliquey, run-of-the mill in state girls. Have a heavy emphasis on legacy and honestly are very close because they all grew up together. They have a lot of fun but in the unsupervised high school party way. Despite rumors they are actually probably one of the nicer sororities, but they will always choose their tradition over you. Obviously prefer their Mtn Brook, Mobile, Montgomery girls but will start taking anybody they see themselves being friends with once they get the zip code girls.
KAPPA: Think KD, but more mature and less intense. This is the most chill sorority on campus and honestly will let their girls just act like the young adults they want to be. They have a very high society vibe but will still get sloppy if they want. They will want the zip code girls who are willing to grow up but also they integrate their out of state girls very well.
CHI O: These girls are your traditional southern girl but do it a cool way. Chi O has a sort of edge to all their girls, which separates them from KD and KKG despite recruiting from the same pool. They are unapologetically themselves but still do it with class. You’ll get a mix of every personality type, but they’ll blend so well together—the best way to describe it is “Barbie: the Princess & the Popstar”
AGD: These are your devoured, girly-girl christians. These girls are the ones who will do tea parties and work at summer camps and want to spread the gospel and ladylike manners any time they can. They substitute the social aspect with very christian activities, although they will get their occasional party girl from like Fairhope or Vestavia Hills. They do take it very seriously and can present a “holier than thou” attitude but honestly it just comes from being way too nice all the time. They would prefer you be from Alabama, but it’s not a huge requirement.
