it's hard to tell sadly! first - houses that are more strongly desired (less girls try to cut them each round) are able to invite fewer girls back to later rounds - so one house may have 100 girls go through pref and another may have 200-250. so if you went through a round and noticed it was much smaller than another house you were at your chances of being on their top 50 or whatever quota is this year is much higher just by a numbers game alone.

how does the system actually work? okay so you put house A as number one, B as number 2, and C as number 3. The system will do everything it can to get you in house A's bid list if you're not already there. So if house A put you at 57 but quota is 50, you'd be bumped to house B. BUT even if you lie in B's top 50, if 8 girls on A's top 50 list pref elsewhere higher and match, you'd slide in there and get a bid to house A even though you were already in house B's bid list.

In general, as long as you don't suicide, you will be matched at a house. If you don't suicide and end up not being in house A, B, or C's top 50, even after all other combinations have been considered, you'll be added on to one (usually your number one pref) as a 'quota addition'. If you suicide, you won't have this option and won't get a bid. I can't confirm this is a hard and fast rule - it may not be your number one pref and if you have one house to visit during pref i am about 90p sure it does apply so still good odds.
