by: questioni am a freshman DZ legacy and i didn't rush this year because i had a personal family situation that prevented me from rushing. i do know a little about most of the sororities on campus but i don't know a lot about DZ! are they mid or lower tier? also I've seen a lot of "bigger" girls wearing DZ shirts around campus, is it known for having larger ladies? also do you recommend spring rush? thanks xo

Quota was 380 this year, and DZ was right around that with the addition of their new member class, so they might have to spring rush.
If you're worrying about what "tier" DZ is in then you shouldn't join. You should join if you're looking for a bond of sisterhood for life, and want to live up to the values of the DZ creed (easily found on Wikipedia). You should join if you're passionate about helping people with speech and hearing problems, which is DZ's philanthropy. You should join if you're interested in holding yourself to a higher standard of becoming a better woman.
Every sorority will have some larger ladies. Every sorority will also have really thin girls. That's what happens when you have nearly 400 girls per chapter. As Greek women, we strive to value others for what they're worth and not judge them by their appearances.
If you want to spring rush, you should probably have a particular chapter in mind that you're interested in as it is conducted on chapter by chapter basis. If you want to get to know all of the chapters, wait until the fall (and improve your attitude).

every sorority has a good number of bigger girls so don't base your opinion on that. dz is middle tier with lots of genuine, well respected girls
