Need advice please

How does the experience differ from a “top” house vs not. It’s my impression that there are abt 10 top houses and then a bunch others. So what is the difference between those tiers?

the only difference is the pairs and then the big weeks like hoco and little 5, besides that it really isn’t much different

Only top houses have social plans Tue-Sat every week. More guest lists, more things to do in general. Mid and bottom houses might only have weekend plans some weeks. Everything else with sisterhood activities, philo and stuff is about the same.

Definitely biggest difference is the frequency of social schedules. Mid/bottom houses will still give you a better experience than probably 90% of other colleges because IU is a huge Greek life school for a reason (other than like AKL Pi Lam and whoever else). But still there’s obviously differences between the houses here.

also to clarify AKL, Kappa Sig and Pi Lam don’t have houses
