by: PNM

hi! i'm planning to rush for Delta Phi Nu this fall and i'm wondering what recruitment looks like. is it as intense as the U.S. sororities where you need reference letters from the alumnae etc?

Hi there!

Our recruitment is not as intense as in the states and works very differently. They'll be a schedule of different rush events for approximately two weeks (the first two weeks of school). They will be hybrid so you don't have to come to any in-person events if you're not comfortable but if you want to you will get the opportunity. In order to be considered for a bid you will have to come to three events and an interview. As of right now, we don't have a set schedule that's out, but we will have one soon and we'll post it in our Facebook group as soon as we do. If you're not in the Facebook group, message one of the sisters and we'll add you.

The best advice I can give is just be yourself! Rush is all about getting to know the sisters and for us to get to know you. I know the idea of rush can seem intimidating but it's pretty chill and everyone's really sweet. Another piece of advice I can offer is to try to make connections with all the girls and bond with as many of the sisters as you can, as the most common reasons girls don't get offered a bid is if not enough people know them.

I'm so happy you decided to rush! I wasn't sure about joining at first myself but it ended up being the best decision I've ever made - everyone is so nice and incredible and I've met many of my best friends through the sorority.

If you have any other questions feel free to comment on this. You can also message any of our social media pages or any of the active sisters and we would be happy to answer any questions or tell you more about the sorority and/or rush process.

I hope this helps. Good luck with rush! I look forward to meeting you :)

Sorry I forgot to add - you don't need to worry about reference letters or anything like that.
