Legacies are given extra consideration. How depends on the chapter because everyone is different and that falls under membership selection which is private.
Every national's rule is different, but in general, legacies are required to be invited back to the first invitational round (in our case, day 2). It would be wise not to cut your legacy chapter the first day, even if you're not feeling it at first.
Further, if a legacy makes it to pref, they'll be placed high enough on the legacy house's bid list to receive a bid, if you rank your legacy house #1.
