2016, just wow. A lot happened this last year that will go down in the history books. We may be a month in to this New Year, but there’s still plenty of 2017 left to go around. Here’s a look at some of the things we can’t wait for.
It’s no longer 2016!
Beauty and the Beast live action remake Any self-respecting millennial can tell you how much the Disney films made in the eighties and nineties made up their childhood, and the 1992’s Beauty and the Beast was no exception. This March the tale as old as time is getting a new live breathed into it with an all-star cast, and it’s shaping up to be quite the magical time.
Opportunities to make your voice heard Thousands of people across the country are standing up for their beliefs, political and otherwise, and our generation is right in the thick of it. Whether you’re liberal, conservative, or something in between, be sure to take advantage of the marches, rallies, and other events in your area to make a difference on the issues that matter to you.
Maybe getting to see Hamilton? Whether you’re a theatre person or not, there’s no denying the cultural phenomenon that is Broadway’s Hamilton. Getting tickets to the show is notoriously difficult, and ones that aren’t crazy expensive even more so. But with the National tour launching this year, this opens up even more changes to see it, maybe even in your own state/city! But act fast, they WILL sell out the way the New York City tickets did.
Lady Gaga’s Superbowl performance. Pretty self-explanatory. I mean, it’s one of the biggest platforms for a musician ever, with one of the most theatrical entertainers of our time…it’s going to be pretty lit.
The unknown We’re serious! As scary as what we don’t know might be, sometimes it’s the things we’re not anticipating that can be the most thrilling. The best parts of the year may just be things we don’t even know about yet, and that’s exciting!
