Let’s face it, one of the hardest parts about going away to school is saying goodbye to your pets. While some universities have started opening up pet friendly dorms and housing, the majority have yet to get with the program. Don’t worry, we completely understand where you’re at.

1. You can’t get through a phone call with your parents without asking about your beloved animal at least once.
Pretty much everyone else back home you can catch up with on social media, except not your fur/scale/fin/whatever else baby.

2.Whenever you come face to face with another sweet animal, you just HAVE to say hello.
Sure they’re probably not as cute as your loves back home, but if they’re there who are you to discriminate?

3.You turn into that old lady who shows pictures of her grandkids at every opportunity…except with your pets.
Just because the people at school don’t get to see your beloved animal in person, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t at least get an idea of how perfect they are, right?

4. Animal videos are your new pastime.
You may have a stack of homework, an exam, and a full day of work tomorrow, but there’s definitely still time for binge watching cat videos…right?

5. The days when you are reunited with your best non-human friend is the new best day of your life. After all those months of waiting, you’re reunited and it’s like you were never apart, and once again you are at peace.
