Despite some decade long dips (or temporary charter issues) Sigs, ATO and Beta will always be royal at Illinois. History has proven this for a century. Second tier includes Delts, SAE, Delta Chi, Pike and Phi Delts. Third tier includes Acacia, Sigma Nu, Fiji, DU and Theta Xi. The above include frat chapters with wealthy alumni monopolies or that have retained their original houses for 100 years. It's difficult to displace the aforementioned houses over a long time period. Sure, there are the occasional temporary upstarts that hold popularity for decades here and there. But history inevitably repeats itself at Illinois.
