carpenter has their favorite tools, each college student has must-have items that get them through life. Most of these necessities are simple, but should never be overlooked. Balancing academic and social life can be difficult enough. Never leave for college without the following:
Post-It Notes
Command Strips
If you live in a dorm, you will definitely want Command Strips. You can use them to hang almost anything on your wall, and they won’t damage it.
Whiteboard
Since I’ve been in college, my whiteboard has become my most used tool. I write to do lists, important dates and deadlines, and anything else I need to remember. I also use it to do homework and study on, so that I don’t have to buy as much paper.
Headphones You will need headphones. I use them while studying, while going to sleep (especially if my roommate is loud), and while walking to class. I always have at least two pairs of headphones in case I lose or break one.
Microwave
A microwave should be on every student’s shopping list. They’re quick, which is essential for the busy student who doesn’t have time to cook.
Mini Fridge
This one should be self-explanatory. Refrigerators are a necessity, especially if you prefer cold drinks over warm ones.
Tupperware Containers
If you cook your own meals, you’ll want these to put your leftovers in. They are also useful if you want to bring your lunch instead of buying an expensive meal plan.
Extension cords
Often, outlets are never exactly where I need them to be. Instead of having to move all my furniture around, I can use an extension cord.
Comfortable Shoes Walking around campus in uncomfortable shoes is terrible. These should definitely be on your shopping list. If you insist on wearing uncomfortable shoes, then a good pair of insoles is a must-have.
