Every sorority girl’s dream is to find her “perfect” big and spend the next few years doing absolutely everything together. Sometimes the wait can be dreadful and long, but as a big, you are already aware of who you will be welcoming with open arms on the day of reveal. You see the list and get the most perfect little in the entire universe, the peanut butter to your jelly, the Rachel to your Monica - the only problem is how the heck are you going to maintain your cool when sitting right next to her at lunch and chapter for the next week? So how can you successfully throw off your little until the big day?
Send fake text messages
It sounds creepy, but it’s actually a whole lot more fun than you would think. Get one of your sisters to send your little messages from a text app when you are hanging out with her; this can confuse her if you aren’t texting anyone at the time you two are together. Whenever you are sending a text, say things you would never usually say. If your little knows you really well, she may be able to figure out it’s you based on the way you type things out and the typical responses you have.
When sitting with a group of older girls and your little, mention that the big-little pairing system was totally messed up and that you are really upset. Don’t make it too obvious that you are lying through your teeth, but get some sisters in on the whole ordeal and create a conversation that will really keep her guessing.
Do the opposite
If you are more of a shy gal, make your little do things she didn’t even know you could come up with. Have your little go on a scavenger hunt to different fraternities to complete embarrassing tasks and ask for picture proof – it’ll be nice to sit back and relax while your little is sending you the weirdest snaps from her day. When she finally greets you on reveal day, she will be questioning all of the things you made her do, and you will pat yourself on the back for a job well done.
