Although the media seems to only publicize the times when Greeks fall short of living up to their values, chapters across the country have remained committed to philanthropic traditions that raise funds and awareness for countless causes. Year-round you’ll find members working hard to organize events and to collect the fundraising proceeds
. Now with the help of Tilt, Greeks have an easy-to-use tool that allows them to spread the word and easily collect funds.
With Tilt, organizations can set a fundraising goal and when that goal is reached or exceeded, they can easily withdraw the funds. The tool includes built-in sharing that will put a cause in front of more people. On average, Tilt campaigns raise 192% of their goal. There’s even an app that allows you to track donations on the go. Possibly most importantly, Tilt automatically provides tax deductible receipts for donations made to a U.S. 501 (c)(3) nonprofit (read more about this).
Check out this story about how the Tri Delts from UVA used Tilt to raise money for their Delta Dodgeball Tournament for St. Jude. The sisters were successful in exceeding their fundraising goal and found that life was made easier by having one central place to collect everyone’s money. They were also able to utilize the comment section of their campaign to ask participants to list their dodgeball team names.
Seriously, with all the functionalities taken into consideration, every Greek organization should be using Tilt by fall semester.
