Graduation Traditions

As much as I’ve avoided talking about it and thinking about it, somehow the dreaded G-word has crept up on us. For all us old, washed up seniors out there, graduation is just around the corner. If you want to make sure you leave without any regrets, check out this fun bucket list of absolute must do’s before graduation. Congratulations to all the seniors graduating… We did it!

Make sure you hit up every bar on campus

A senior bar crawl is obviously a must. Whether you want to hit up the bars with your old freshman floor or planned a pledge class bar crawl with your sisters or brothers you definitely want to make sure you’ve been to every bar on campus before you graduate.

Take one last trip to the dining hall
Reminisce about all the good (or bad) times you had back in the day when you still lived in dorms and were forced to go to the dining hall everyday, because you didn’t have a kitchen. No matter how much you complained about it you know you’ll secretly miss it.

Talk to your crush
It’s been four years now, and you still have the crush on the same person. Whether or not they know you exist, have a conversation with them. Regardless if it goes well or poorly, you’ll be happy you finally had the courage to talk to them.

Take a picture with your school mascot

In 20 years when you look back at your old pictures from college, you’re definitely going to want to have a picture with your school mascot.

Participate in a school tradition
I don’t care how corny you think it is. Make sure you take full advantage of the crazy school traditions, because soon you’ll be out in the real world wishing you had jumped in that fountain or ran that naked mile.

Go to a frat party
By the time we’re seniors, we’re pretty much over frat parties and have moved onto the bars. That being said, we can’t forget that there may be bars in the real world, but college is the only time you can go to a frat party.

Crash a tour
This is personally my favorite one. We all remember being anxious little high schoolers, touring our future colleges with hope and excitement. Now that your time at school is almost up, take a stroll down memory lane and crash a tour with the newbies.

Go to every restaurant/café/pub on Main Street
Whether you go to a city school or a campus school, every school is famous for some restaurant or café or pub or whatever, and I’m sure at this point in your college career you’ve gone to most of them. But don’t forget to check out those smaller less popular places that you might have missed. They may surprise you!

Go on a road trip
Soak up your last moments of freedom with almost no responsibilities. Take a fun trip with your best friends. Whether you go to a beach, the city, the country, as long as you’re with your friends, you’ll have a great time.

Spend time with your friends

The sad truth is that once we graduate, things will most likely never be the same again. Some may be off across the country in grad school, or getting a job across the world so make sure to spend as much time together as possible!
