Rules for grades in frat

by:

If you have flunked out of your classes for the second time during college, are you allowed to still participate in the fraternity by going to formals and other parties until the semester is done?

You haven't officially flunked out until the semester's over. The next semester though you are no longer a student and are no longer an active fraternity member at that point. Depending on how much the active brothers like you at that point, especially the decision makers in office, they might let you continue to do stuff but you still have to pay for it like everybody else because formals and parties are not free.

Sigma chi requires that a member has to have a 3.0 to participate in any formal, semi- formal, date party or swap. If a member has had 1.9 or lower, he is on academic probation with the university as well as most fraternities. He shouldn’t be allowed to participate. The wilder frats will let him participate until he is no longer a student.

In order to stay in school and not kicked out after two less than stellar semesters, a student must show improvement. A minimum GPA is a 2.0 in order to be a student in good standing. If you have less than a 2.0, you will be required to retake classes you made a D in. So basically you could be a student here three years but failed so many classes that you have to retake freshman and sophomore classes. Most parents who are paying money to allow you to attend college would make you drop out with that many failing grades. However, a lot of parents have FOMO for their kids and keep allowing their failing kid to continue going to school until he/she is expelled.

If you are even a little smart, you’d know to withdraw from your classes. That way it’s like this semester never happened. Go home. Regroup. Go to trade school.

If you’re in a halfway decent frat they are probably really not happy that you single-handedly devastated their GPA

If this kid was an SAE then they don’t care about the GPA. They have their share of grade makers but they love to party. They predominantly have the HS partners so their GPA usually s u c k s.
