lambda is dead.

by: RIP Lambda

Nationals kicked out 100+ members, all pledges have dropped, and the rest are likely disaffiliating. This was done without prompting by the school. Lambda Chi Alpha has always been a upstanding member of the Greek community and it is sad to see them go like this.

When will this crusade against fraternity life end? Fraternities are not clubs with houses. Brotherhood means something because it’s earned.

When will "the crusade" end? When fraternities start following the rules their nationals set. I assure you, if this is true this house was not kicked out for no reason. Nationals do not punish chapters in good standing who follow the rules and pay their dues. So if you want an explanation, ask the Lambda Chi officers what they did wrong. A strong brotherhood does what it can to keep existing. Lambda obviously didn't understand that.

Nationals overstep their bounds with all the rules they impose. If fraternities followed every rule that their Nationals set, there would be no alcohol, no parties, and every chapter would initiate instantly which also means they’re packed with goobers with a no sense of brotherhood. Fraternity life might as well not exist at that point.

Can't believe someone actually thinks that people who serve on national fraternity boards, either as volunteers or staffers, have no sense of brotherhood. Seems to me they are devoting their careers to that brotherhood. If you truly think it is about the brotherhood and not the drinking and partying, you never would have written that frat life might as well not exist. Listen to yourself. Better yet, get sober and listen to yourself.

Spoken like a true entitled brat who thinks the rules don't apply to him. Good luck in the real world, Pal. And contrary to what mommy and daddy tell you, your $hit does stink.

HaHa,

Our Nationals give us several ways that we can have alcohol and parties at the house. As far as the "goobers" go, The goobers are usually the actives that feel once they are initiated it is open season on the pledges. Homecoming has become a pledge class project and not something that the chapter works on as a group. I hate these 6 week pledgeships but until the actives start stepping up, this is what happens. We have brought this on ourselves. If you want a real fraternity experience, stop checking out after your initiated and only showing up for social events. I have never seen such a group of useless members that would rather disaffiliate and move out after their sophomore year than pay a house bill or out of house fee. But guess who always shows up to the parties...

Can't think of anyone who will miss Lambda. Not exactly the cream of the crop.

to miz alum.
I couldnt agree with you more. The fraternities and their alum boards need to find a way to continue to engage actives of fraternity chapters after they complete sophomore year and move out of the house. The chapters need older student leadership and guidance.
