Sororities do have an idea of a handful of girls they already want, yes. And that is because they have already met many of them at hometown christmas parties, preview weekend, and spring tea weekend. But do not be afraid if they do not know you yet! So many girls in my sorority had never ever been contacted pre-rush and they received a bid. We will also know if you sent in a rec...it's all recorded.

Of course they do! Why do you think they want recs?
The sororities have been studying them, and your online profiles, for months now.
Each sorority has also cataloged its needs. Do they need more artists to design T shirts and banners? Do they need musicians and singers for homecoming and other competitions? Do they need athletes for intramural teams? Do they need leaders who can serve as officers, finance-minded women to be on finance committees, fashion buffs to help choose outfits for rush?
Sororities would be fools to fail to study and select the best women for their needs.
