I'm transferring to UA in the Fall, I was in a fraternity at the University at Buffalo, and I want to pledge again lol, will already being in a fraternity make any sort of difference?

ATO, then it stands to reason that your chapter was recognized by your nationals even if it wasn't recognized by the school (or else you couldn't use the name).

UA and Buffalo have something in common: we don't recognize ATO either

If you were initiated into a fraternity, you can't join another one! It doesn't work that way.

Sigma Nu, but KA was founded like two months after ATO and at a different school (Washington and Lee with the help of Robert E. Lee). Sigma Nu was founded at VMI like ATO, but I can't find anything that says the founding was connected either.
