Dropped from my legacy
by: LegacySo I did not get an invite to my legacy house! I don’t know why? They were my first choice & now I’m worried I won’t get a bid at all.

A lot of nationals have changed the legacy invite rules so that legacies can be dropped earlier/ don’t have to come back anymore... NHPC encouraged this with a lot of houses to help promote diversity and make it more fair for everyone. It happens, I would just say keep your head up & try to find your own path now because you have the chance to explore a new route you might not have thought of before! Positive attitude during rush can make or break the experience :) Goodluck girl and stick with it!!

There are a ton of legacies at A&M. Some chapters have more legacies rushing than there will be spots in their pledge class. Most chapters will give another sorority’s legacies a chance because they know that being a Legacy isn’t a sure thing for a bid.
Dust yourself off and go into round 2 ready to get to know the chapters who are interested in you.

Legacies don’t carry much weight for many houses like the used to. I know three sororities that have close to 100 legacies this year. I don’t advice putting legacy on your resume except for the house where you are a legacy or others assume you will pick that house.
It’s a numbers game with so many PNMs and they have to make quick decisions on grades, reputation and feedback from the quick chats. Best wishes - you will find a home if you don’t cut houses.

I had the same and it really hurt my feelings. BUT, I stuck it out. I was given a bid to a house that originally was not on my radar. I am soo happy. So stick with it. Kee going back!
