Texas A&M University College Station - TAMU Greek Life Reviews

Greek life is doing really good at A&M and I'd say it's just as good as Greek life at UT. Huge number of Greeks but small percentage of the school is Greek because there's 60,000 + students on campus. Sororities are very competitive and unlike most other schools, you are not garunteed a bid if you rush. If one thing could be improved it would be the fraternities. They are much smaller than most other sec or southern schools frats. If fratenities get bigger and more competitive A&M will be on par with any other sec school (barring Alabama and ole miss). Sorities at A&M are tied for first in Texas with UT and would compete easily with any other school in the south and would fall just under ole miss and Alabama I'd say. When the houses get better, they'd be Some of the top Greek life sororities in the south.

One word... corps. That is why Greek life is bad here. The corps is awesome and I love the tradition it just seems that the university can't promote both at the same time.

Not nearly as good as other SEC schools but getting better every year. Lots of potential for growth but the school itself (unlike Arkansas, Bama, ole miss) is pretty anti-Greek because of the Corps and all of the Freshman Leadership Orgs (FLOs) that are largely promoted instead of Greek life. But because of FLOs being more of a freshman year thing obviously, a decent amount of people rush their sophomore year instead. There's a sorority row but no frat row which sucks, even the sorority houses arent ALL that great. Lots of off campus frat houses like Fiji , Delt, Sigep, SigChi..and only relatively close one is SAE (Which also has the best house besides maybes sigchi). If you're interested in rushing, go for it and try it out. It's not "looked down upon by majority of campus population" - there's just too many different orgs to join and around 60,000 students , all in a predominantly anti-Greek / pro-corps campus

Greek life at A&M has grown since joining the SEC however it is no where near schools like bama and ole miss. Houses are all off campus and usually far out. A large amount of the student population looks down upon the greek community.

When I showed up to college station I didnt think it would be this good. But north gate,now that's a place I think everyone should get a taste of holy FAUQ But other than that, the campus is nice "asf".

I honeslt think this school deserves an A no dout. Love the atmosphere and the parties are legit

honestly, I like it, but I wish the housing was better. I think a lot of people don't realize that greek life is actually pretty dang huge at tamu. I personally am involved and some of the parties are AMAZING and northgate is always bumpin. I would recommend better housing

The system at TAMU is not good. Basically gives you almost st no selection on what sorority you can join. you can be completely qualified to be in a top house but you will get shoved into a bottom house just to "even the field" and make all the houses equally bad instead of good houses and bad houses. That is why I went to Texas state.

The Aggie pan Greek system just doesn't work.
