Does going through recruitment as a transfer sophomore make it tough to get a bid?

No, you'll be fine. As long as you connect with the guys in a chapter and meet their standards, it doesn't matter that you're a transfer sophomore.

What about getting a bid from a sorority

My bad, that's a little different. Someone could probably answer this better than myself, but sorority recruitment is informal and it usually helps to know someone in a chapter you're trying to join.

There are quotas that all houses are required to fill for upper classman during formal fall recruitment that this should not be a issue for you. As for knowing people, we have around 1000 girls go through formal recruitment and they certainly don't all know someone. A strong resume, REC letters, attractiveness... are much more important.

There aren't as many slots for upperclassmen but if you are a strong candidate you will be fine
