rushing in the spring vs waiting till next semeste

I didn't rush or go to any greek life events the first semester because a family member passed away unexpectedly and that required my attention. Now that that's over though I think i would really enjoy being in a frat and would love to look into it. I just am not sure if it would be better to try to rush now or wait till the fall semester of my sophomore year? I am a first generation college student and have no idea what i'm doing.

I'm in a similar situation. This school is really intimidating. If you don't come in knowing what you are doing, nobody seems to want to help.

Rush this spring. It doesn't cost anything and no one will look down on you for doing it. You'll get a chance to talk to every chapter, even if they're not taking a spring class this year. Worst case scenario, you get a chance to meet their guys and make connections before rushing again in the fall.
