rush
by: morush can be hard on some girls from not getting any houses back or dropping rush all together. so for any girls in that position right now it’s okay and i feel for you. it happens a lot to great girls every year. watch for cob and spring rush if you really are set on joining a house!

COB is a great way to rush a sorority. Especially for girls without great grades or connections. The groups can offer you a bid based on getting to know you. If you are shy this is a better opportunity to show who you are instead of just being a number on a resume. I highly suggest girls who dropped or were dropped to look into COB. Every year some great groups end up taking on some great girls.
If you didn’t go through formal, consider this a blessing. You saved yourself the wasted money and stress. Contact Pan and make sure they know you are interested. If you know girls in sorority let them know you are interested in case their group is looking for new members.
Groups will have one or two spots, some will have 20 depending on how many girls graduated, went to OUHSC, etc.
Go for it!!!

i rushed a few years back and the same thing happened to me and i was cut by all the top houses that i wanted. i did spring rush and end up in a great place even though it’s not where i thought i would be! rush can be so upsetting if you don’t get the house you want but don’t give up completely, there’s a lot of organizations and clubs to be involved with too

In order to get into a “top” house, you have to have very strong connections and know lots of girls or blow them away during rush. we typically see girls from the same towns or friend groups go to those houses. all the other houses aside from those look for more than what you appear to be like on the outside, or how much money your family has. unfortunate, but the truth.

Total has not been set yet. Once Pan sets total there will be 5 or 6 chapters who are under total. (Total is the mean # of members in each chapter).
Some chapters will know they are going to come under total based on early grads, nursing students, etc. They start planning activities now. You can’t recruit past Total. Some groups could have one spot. Others will have a larger group.
OU Panhellenic usually has a form on their website. And passes your interest to eligible chapters. But it is good to ask close friends if they are in a sorority to get a head start. The sooner you join, you start the new member stuff with the rest of your PC. .
