truth
by: rebelI transferred to ole miss second semester of my Soph. year so I couldn't rush. I still hang out with a bunch of sorority girls from all different sororities. From the outside of things & from things other people have said... This is my 100% truthful opinion. There are four sororities that girls come to ole miss dying to get into. Those four are (in no order) xo, kd, dg, and ddd. These are the four that girls cry over when they get so called "cut" from. Under those four I would say kkg and phi mu. These are great sororities also with great girls. I would put pi phi in it's own category. Not as wanted as the two above but not as looked down upon as the bottom two, aopi and theta. But with that being said I have friends in every sorority from top to bottom and the saying is true. There is not a "bad" sorority at ole miss. ADPi is new and we will have to see where they fit in the mix after this years rush. Please comment cause I would like to know what people think.

Most truthful post on this page. I like how you didn't label them as "top, middle, or bottom" you just said which ones girls preferred over others. & to be honest I'm in one of the middle tier sororities and I completely agree with this post. And I don't understand why everyone ^^^ always talks bad about dg. It makes no sense cause everyone knows they are top.

I have been involved as a rush recruitment advisor on a national level and I have never seen such nasty rankings and attitudes at northern or Midwest campuses. What is wrong with you southern belles? All sororities have ups and downs, good and bad, etc. and every sorority on this campus is a bottom or top tier at another campus. There is no excuse for down ranking others. Sisterhood is sisterhood, and my sorority sisters have always been there for me in some of my worst moments, including the death of a child. Being of member of a "top tier" doesn't guarantee anything in life and when you look back at defining life moments "rankings" really don't matter - life long friends do.

GTFO? Really? Ladies, you are right. I don't go to school at Ole Miss, although I have lived in the south for several years and I do understand "southern" culture. If you didn't understand the concept behind my post, I sincerely hope you grow up in the next few years and learn to broaden your horizon. If that is impossible for you, you will have difficulty living anywhere beyond your "southern" culture communities.

The tiers haven't changed over the last 25+ years. But the gaps between them have narrowed a lot. So many great OOS girls are coming to Ole Miss. Lots of PNMs rushing. More good pledges spread across all houses. OM sororities are the best. PNMs are lucky to get a spot in any one of them. Focus on the things you love about each of the houses. Lots of effort goes into recruitment. Enjoy it.

i guess you hate dg because honey dear it's ole miss DG. It's like THE sorority let's be real. Sorry they dropped you or something. I'm not a DG either so don't go there. I just tell the truth.
