Frat rush advice from someone in a ‘top’ house

Tops: Beta, Pi Kapps, Phi Sig - going to be the top houses in terms of best pair of sorority and campus clout if you will - of guys I know, phi sig dudes are very solid , with beta following and pi kapps my least favorite

Fratty: Phi Delt , Phi Psi - the stereotypical TikTok frat guy types for the most part - phi Delt significantly ‘higher’ socially, but all guys in phi psi are smart and a great house. Phi Delt HEAVY east coast, phi psi takes kids all over

Not so fratty houses: Theta Chi, Chi Phi, SigEp - take standup kids who are overall nice guys - chi phi is newest of the bunch and trending up with really good new pledge classes, sigep has lot of iu tradition and great at all intramural sports (little 5/GBA), theta chi is probably ‘best’ socially

Fratty, but lower: Delts, SNU - guys here embody the frat guy stereotype , just arent as socially relevant as other houses mentioned so far, both houses do really well academically, delts has one of the nicest houses on campus - both somewhat heavy on out of state kids

Jewish: Aepi, ZBT, Sammy, TEP- they definitely follow that order in terms of desirability to be in, zbt and Sammy both of campus (as of last year?) , aepi tons of tradition being a great house , Tep gets a lot of **** for probably being one of the worst on campus, but all guys I know are super nice

Notables I haven’t mentioned: SAE, Fiji - I know very few guys in SAE, lot of kids from Indianapolis and socially a great house , just don’t know too much , if you’re reading this for rush info, Fiji is likely already pledging, lol too late, but a good house nonetheless

Other houses campus: Lambda, Asig, Beta Sig, Pike - unfortunately I’d call these the bottom houses at IU, I think lambda has potential I love their old house style, guys in Asig are some of the worst kids I’ve met at school, maybe just bad sample though, beta sig is not sure if they’ll be here this year(or in future?) , pike is off campus and not socially so great, all guys I’ve met in here are really smart and good dudes

At the end of the day, your fraternity choice doesn’t define you. Find where you feel most comfortable and enjoy the best party school in the country.
