ASA was never not allowed to have a house. That was a rumor, they’re just a newer chapter and haven’t gotten a house yet

Actually, I had a friend who was on ASA exec and they’re not nationally unhoused. But they’re nationals doesn’t want this specific chapter to have a house because they’ve heard all about what happens to the Greek houses at IU.

Yep. I have 5 chapters back today. Two I love and three I haven't liked from day 1. If I get one or both of the two I love back tomorrow, I will be thrilled. If I get back any of the bottom three, I will drop. Sorority dues are too expensive to be in a house I don't love.

Also, If I take a bid from one of my bottom three, then I will be taking a spot away from a girl who loved them like I loved the other two. I don't want to do that either.

No offense but spending 45 minutes w five different people isn’t long enough to tell if you love a house or hate a house. The house you think you love you may only like those 5 girls and the house you think you hate you may only dislike those 5 girls. This logic is flawed and biased if you can’t afford to be in a house that’s fine but don’t act like that has anything to do with people dropping from houses other than TPA which most people can’t afford. I’m sure you have at least one house other than TPA back and you have no good reason to not give them a chance unless Greek life just isn’t that important to you or you don’t think it’s for you

just because someone is in top tier doesn't automatically mean they joined greek life for the wrong reasons

TPA is more almost 5K higher than the next highest chapter. I wouldn't pay 14K to live in regardless of how cool the girls are. I am not doubting they have cool girls, but you have to admit their social calendar sucks. They party with all of the unhoused chapters. No other housed chapter parties with those chapters. I don't want to do that. They might be under just one more year with Delts but will they be able to get another house? If no other fraternity gets kicked off, they will be stuck again.

But I did think ASA was really nice. If they are on my list tomorrow, I will be ok with it. I had 4 chapters and I can afford three of them.

TPA only requires girls to live in 1 year and other chapters require 2 years so in the end the cost is about even. Multiple other housed chapters share a similar social calendar or pair with unhoused chapters/ go to those open parties- SDT, ADPI, AGD and SK all do. They have the house officially one more year with the ability to resign for 2 or so years after. All in all you get a similar experience joining them as you would any other lower tier house.

Are you stupid? Not requiring a second year doesn’t make people have $5k more to pay up front for a chapter with no social schedule. And if you were in a house you’d know live outs share in the fees so when tpas are dropping like crazy Bc they can’t afford it the price goes up for everyone. If they don’t get rid of that house and soon they won’t be able to sustain themselves. Ask anyone in the chapter they don’t even want that house bc it’s making life way harder for them. Tpa was way better when they had apartments together and they know it

Have you even been inside? That house is phenomenal and has its own gym. The renovation delts did then the upgrades to turn it into a sorority. Seriously? I share a room with 2 other girls in my sorority and my closet is in the hallway, I’d pay a little more to have more space. The TPA triples are 2 full size rooms connected not like my cramped room. I love my house but if we’re being real yes TPA pays more but their house is hands down better. Not to mention some houses have cold dorms. You can bash them for cost but not conditions

This proves TPA isn't very smart. A triple is two rooms for three people? Put two girls in each of those rooms and collect more money to lower in the live in fees. Goes to show what happens when one of the smaller nantionals tries to play with the big dogs.

Do your homework....how many rooms does each typical sorority house have? Delts put on a whole new wing before being kicked. We used to pair with them so I know first hand what that house was like. TPA (Delts) house is ridiculously big and gorgeous it’s a shame someday they’ll have to give it up even bigger shame I’ll be graduating and won’t see the return of the Delts.
