frats with long histories
by: freshmanI've never been interested in starting a new frat or joining a house that was recently founded. I want to join a frat that has a longer and richer history with a more exciting pledging process. What frats should I look into?

These years are based on the last recharters. Chapters lose most of their tradition and history when they get kicked off and rechartered. Look at Sig Ep for instance. New Sig Ep did not keep any of the Old Sig Ep traditions because they are unwilling to take risks.

There was a period of time in the 1890s when Northwestern disbanded all fraternities. Also, phi psi did get kicked off campus sometime in the 1980s to1990s, so they are nowhere near as old as you say they are.

Lambda chi has sort of been on campus since like the 1920's too, but there was a stretch of time from like 98-2003 or so when they had been kicked off campus
