richest house?
by: incoming freshmanTo put it bluntly, I come from money. I was wondering where I should rush (sorority) if I want to be with other girls from similar backgrounds? I like a Tridelt junior I knew from high school but she doesn't strike me as the classiest. I have told either Theta or Kappa will suit me. What are your thoughts?

Theta and Kappa might have decent looking girls, but they're not rich, despise what some of them may pretend. Richness comes on an individual basis too. By the way, how much money are you talking? $1 mil? $5 mil? $10 mil? $20 mil? $50 mil? You'd be better off joining a sorority for the friendships instead of for "class". Sororities don't tend to be filled with rich girls.
A lot of Northwestern kids have millionaire parents. Maybe like 35%. And maybe 10% are at the $10 mil or above. Maybe 1% at $50 mil or above. The sororities on average are poorer than the average Northwestern student. International students tend to be richer than students born in America as well, because they need to pay full tuition. So I guess join international student clubs, if you want to be near the real rich people. There are some serious rich kids there (even if they hide their wealth). Some kids from China/India/Singapore whose parents have $100 mil or above in assets.

You should join a sorority for friendship, not for equality of financial backgrounds, which is petty and unimportant. Even asking about this reflects very poorly on you, and if you discuss it during rush I can guarantee the house will cut you. I came from a middle class background and joined a "top ranking" house and we had some rich women and some had financial aid. It made no difference. These women were all attractive, bright and fun-loving. THAT's why you join a house.

Hell, Sasa or Casa probably have more money than sororitys. sorority girls act like they have money but are in reality upper middle class at best. Internationals have the real money.
