texas theta

I guess rerushing is the way to do it at Texas.
You can be pudgy, totally unattractive and not even wealthy (which usually matters to Theta) but if you re-rush after getting to know some of the actives, theta will take you.
I know a girl who accepted a bid to AXD, dropped then re-rushed as a sophomore and got pi phi. That tells you how important connections are at Texas.
So ladies! Contrary to what so many older sorority women will tell you (really in hopes to help a weak chapter), do not accept a bid to a lower house that you are unhappy with.
Just when you thought you were going to be slumming it in DG or ADPi, mixing with ATO or Phi psi, you can re-rush as a sophomore and boom! You'll be a Theta or pi phi! Or a Zeta. or a Kappa. or an upper mid like APhi. You could even be a ChiO by re rushing.
Don't be afraid to try again. That's the moral of the story. Don't try to make it work with a low level house you're not happy with. You don't have to. You'll do much better second time around. Everyone always does. Just make sure you live in West campus and you're partying with the actives.

Pi Phi, Kappa, and Theta all take non-wealthy girls if they like them. Each of those houses is a mixed bag, though some would rather have you believe otherwise. If someone fits into the chapter, why wouldn't you take them? Class is not about wealth. I will say, though, that they'll take the people they've spent more time around and have seen in the day-to-day. Like you don't just saunter in sophomore year if you don't know a soul in the house. Kappa's flat out taken sophomores they literally did not know because an alum wrote them a spiffy LOS. As OP said, not to worry. If you're the "type" it's an intangible thing

Theta here and this is the dumbest post I've read in a while. Congratulations, GR, you've reached new levels. And shout out to Sherlock up there for "exposing" the fact that most bids have to do with personality and fit, regardless of money. Shockerrrr
I should also point out that y''all are the ones giving greeks a bad name with the whiny persecution complex, as I'm pretty sure most independents dgaf.
All I've learned from this post is that Sherlock's mad she didn't get in

I know a triple kappa/theta legacy who was cut from both houses. She had superduper support in the form of a phone call from national organization and got cut from both. It really is about who they like.
